As an attendee, you have the ability to research potential employers, explore opportunities, and learn about various graduate programs. Choose which NASA centers, employers or academic programs you want to interact with and then engage in one-on-one text-based conversations directly with a recruiter or admissions officer at those organizations. You can share your background, experience, resume and ask questions. Maximize your time in the event by getting in line to chat with representatives from more than one company or university at a time.

About the NASA One Stop Shopping Initiative (OSSI)

The NASA OSSI Online Career Week is sponsored by NASA’s One Stop Shopping Initiative (OSSI).

The NASA One Stop Shopping Initiative (OSSI) is an agency-wide approach designed to support NASA and U.S. workforce needs in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and allied disciplines.

OSSI extends the agency’s reach to students, faculty and communities served by Asian American Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institutions (AANAPISIs); Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs); Predominantly Black Institutions (PBIs); Predominantly White Institutions (PWIs); and Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs) through the OSSI Broker Facilitator Corps. The OSSI Broker Facilitator Corps consists of the following three organizations: the American Indian Higher Education Consortium (AIHEC), the Hispanic Scholarship Fund Institute (HSFI), and the Institute for Broadening Participation (IBP).

How does the event work?

Click “register” to create your profile and sign up for each live event you wish to attend.

From February 9-13, the NASA OSSI Online Career Week will give you access to information and resources posted by participating companies and institutions. During the live events (February 10-12), representatives from NASA centers, STEM industry and top graduate programs will engage with you in one-on-one chats. When you are chatting, they will be able to see a snapshot of your profile and view your resume. This will enable them to answer your questions and provide feedback specific to you. Don’t forget to do your research and come prepared with questions.

Undergraduate and graduate students as well as recent graduates and young professionals interested in the following opportunities:
  • NASA internships, fellowships, and scholarships
  • Internships, rotational programs, and employment opportunities in STEM companies
  • Top STEM graduate programs

How do I sign up?

Signing up is easy! Simply complete the online Brazen Connect registration form for each live event you wish to attend. Don’t forget to upload a photo and a 1-page resume.

What kind of technology will I need to participate?

Brazen’s platform is in the cloud, so there are no plugins, downloads, or clunky software requirements. All that you need to participate in an online career fair with Brazen Careerist is a computer, tablet or smartphone with internet connection. We recommend that you have the latest versions of Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer, or Chrome.

How long is the event?

The NASA OSSI Online Career Week will be held February 9-13, 2015. Participants will be able to visit booths and access employers’ information and opportunities throughout the entire week.

Please keep in mind that live events will take place February 10-12, 2015. Each live event is four hours long and you will be able to log in and engage with employers anytime between 1:00-5:00 PM EST (10:00 AM-2:00 PM PST).

How do I prepare for the live events?

To get the most out of the NASA OSSI Online Career Week, we encourage you to complete the following steps:
  • Register for each live event(s) you wish to attend
  • Complete your profile (don’t forget to upload a photo and a 1-page resume).
  • Research participating NASA centers, companies, and schools (take a look at the participating employers section of this website).
  • Before the live events, visit participating employers’ booths to learn about the opportunities available and get access to resources they have provided for this event. This will allow you to prepare questions and request feedback.

How can I follow-up with the representatives after the event?

To follow up with participating recruiters and representatives, please ask them for their contact information during your chat. Don’t forget to ask them if it would be appropriate to get in touch after the event.

What is the purpose of the one-on-one chats?

The one-on-one chats will allow you to engage with NASA representatives, graduate admission counselors and industry recruiters. These short sessions are ideal opportunities to ask questions, get feedback, and learn about opportunities available at a wide range of institutions from the comfort of your home. They are meant to be used as an informational session, and do not replace the official application and interview process. If you find an opportunity that you are interested in applying to, please make sure that you follow the instructions provided in the announcement to submit your application.
